About the role

This role requires a combination of high-level technical skill, leadership, and experience in the use of technology for the develop conceptual design solutions. Within this role you are responsible for the quality of Woods Bagot technical design across your projects. The focus and outcome will be on maintaining client satisfaction, while ensuring our projects meet milestones, deliverables, and outcomes.

The role will be based in our Adelaide studio and will assist Principal’s and other Project Leaders to deliver projects with high quality design outcomes for our clients.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Take responsibility for leading the quality of technical design performance for specific projects.
  • Direct the project Technical Design scope and methodology.
  • Manage the day to day running of projects including client liaison.
  • Produce a conceptual design solution with awareness of and response to the strategic, financial and time planning for the project.
  • The ability to coordinate with external consultants, including cross checking of drawings and Revit models.
  • Provide leadership to the Project Team and undertake an ongoing review of subsequent stages of the project to ensure that the integrity of the agreed design solutions are maintained. Particularly regarding development of the design and late variations to the design brief.
  • Assisting Design Leaders through participation in design reviews and mentoring.
  • Marketing Woods Bagot’s design expertise on the project and for that studio and assistance in the raising of Woods Bagot’s reputation for design excellence.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • 8 + years or equivalent experience.
  • Hold a Masters Degree in Architecture.
  • A talent for design but with experience across all project phases.
  • Extensive experience with the use of technology on large and complex projects.
  • Extensive experience with of BIM practices, standards, and workflows.
  • Advanced/Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit (depending on project scale).
  • Rhino and Enscape competence is preferable.
  • Experience leading medium-scale projects.
  • Well-developed client skills and experience managing Consultants.
  • The capability to lead less experienced team members.
  • Residential, Health care, and commercial (workplace) sector experience is highly regarded.
  • Architectural registration is highly regarded.
