Bruno Mendes is a Woods Bagot director and global leader for the Civic and Events sector. An award-winning and highly published architect, Bruno’s experience spans a broad swathe of sectors and typologies, from urban masterplanning through to the design and delivery of city-shaping civic institutions. His commitments to architecture have earnt him several architectural awards and public opportunities, including a World Architecture Festival award, Australian Institute of Architects’ awards, an exhibition at the Venice Biennale, and a showcase at the National Gallery of Victoria’s “Melbourne Now”. He was also previously named one of Melbourne’s most influential, inspirational, provocative and creative people by The Age’s Melbourne magazine. His portfolio of recent works includes Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, the Grand Pavilion at Caulfield Racecourse, Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre, Scultpform, the University of Tasmania Forestry Building, Adelaide Convention Centre, and Deakin University Law Building.
